Indonesia Full of Your Glory
- Homeland
I have a burden for my country, Indonesia, since I was 15 years old. Driven by all evil deeds that corrupt & destroy my country steadily. This burden has rooted deeply in my heart through the years.
Unfortunately, God’s plan is not always like my plan. My plan for years destroyed, but His plan still contains the essence of this burden.
On 14 Feb, in my conversation with Mr Irwan Pranoto, somehow I was moved to share about my previous burden and current calling. I said, “I wish that Indonesia can be at a better state.”
He said, ” Hmm.. How good you want it to be?”
“Erm..” (I know that my sentence is very vague. Honestly I have no clear ‘vision’ because I haven’t got a chance to truly study deep into the matter. Not wise to comment based on unreliable assumption of mine)
“Less people suffering? No corruption?”
“Erm.. Not really.” (Realizing that they mean nothing. The essence isn’t there, though they ‘seem’ good. They don’t reflect the real quality and don’t mean that Indonesia is at a good state already.)
“At times I wonder. When people ask us to pray for our country, what should we pray? Better? How good? What kind of good that we want?”
We discussed again and agreed that at times prosecution or suffering might be a tool to wake the sleeping Christians up. Rally them together and finally revive to fight for the Truth, for God.
I am wondering since then, “So what should I pray? Even a theological teacher said such thing.” If we don’t pray, also feel not right. As if no problem already, as if there is no need for God already for my country. But the fact Indonesia needs God’s mercy terribly. I keep questioning this matter.
On 1 March, International Evangelical Church organized an “Indonesian Day”. A duet sang, “Indonesia Penuh kemuliaan-Mu” (Indonesia Full of Your Glory). I knew this song. When I softly joint to sing, my tears started to roll down. This is the one. This is what I should pray for my country. Not according to what is good to me (relative), but according to His Glory (absolute).
This is my deep prayer, request & cry to You, Lord.. For my beloved country, Indonesia..
Indonesia Full of Your Glory (translated)
Jesus is the Lord that is worth to be lifted up Worth to be worshipped by all tribes By Your blood, You have redeemed my nation Fulfill, Lord, Your Words on my country My heart is longing to see Your glory My heart is longing to see the outpouring of Your power In beloved land, my country, Indonesia I pray Indonesia, full of Your glory Indonesia for Your gloryWho ever you are, whichever your nationality is, you are born there for a purpose. Pray for your country to be filled with His glory.

Life without Tasks = Go & Die
Pak Irwan Pranoto shared to me, he said..
I asked a church pastor, “How’s your church? Any problem?”. The pastor said, “No problem, everything is fine”, while the church comittee actually discussing on church’s bad growth. I asked again, “Anything else to be done?”. The Pastor said, “Well, nothing”.
It makes me think that he can just go and die. Why? Because he has no longer tasks that God assigned to him to live in this world. Why we are still alive? Because we still have tasks that we need to accomplish in this world. If he is still alive, it is surely he still need to do something. It is impossible that nothing else can be done for his church.
People said life is a gift. Yes, I agree but it will be a greater joyful gift when you know our direction of life (vision) from Him to do & accomplish all tasks (mission) that are uniquely given for you from the Creator.
Thanks God for a life. And why am I still having a life? I still have tasks to be accomplished.
